TRUE "The Real Urban Experience"

The REAL Urban Experience (TRUE) is a two-week (summer) urban plunge in some of Fresno’s neighborhoods of concentrated poverty.  Through TRUE you will be introduced to a variety of experiences in urban Fresno, participate in a scripted driving tour of urban Fresno and a focused study in the book of Amos.  In addition to exploring and learning about the city, you will perform service projects and provide leadership and staffing resources to an apartment based neighborhood kid’s club that will introduce you to local urban leaders and engage you with residents in the city.  You will be trained and equipped by experienced and gifted African-American leaders who will serve as your mentors, teachers and friends.

Participants stay in African-American host family homes where you will be well loved and will enjoy a variety of different ethnic food opportunities.

We ask that participants make a total commitment, stay for the entire project and come with willing spirits and flexible attitudes.
